DSHS Prevention System Project Manager

You'll be responsible for planning and managing major prevention services support projects. Use your leadership, project management skills, and experience in data analysis to foster a collaborative environment where staff are excited to provide technology services in support of our Behavioral Health Administration, Substance Use Disorder Prevention and Mental Health Promotion Unit.

Reporting to the Behavioral Health Administrator, this is a key organizational position within the state's largest agency-DSHS. This project has significant impact on the quality of strategies that improve the lives of vulnerable youth and their families in high need communities. 

Required Qualifications-

  • Bachelor Degree in Public Policy and Administration or related Social Sciences field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with substance abuse prevention and/or mental health promotion service delivery.
  • A strong understanding of the delivery of publicly-funded behavioral health services  (substance abuse prevention, mental health promotion, chemical dependency treatment, and mental health services) and practices.
  • Federal grant writing, monitoring, and reporting experience.
  • Large project management experience.
  • Demonstrated competency in planning, critical thinking/analytical skills, and collaborative decision making.
  • Proficiency in problem identification, ability to view issues from multiple perspectives, and generate a variety of solutions.
  • Intermediate to advances skills in various software applications including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent communications skills (oral and written) and the ability to interact and present effectively with a broad spectrum of professional staff at the local, state, and national levels (including representatives of the federal government, tribal nations, DSHS and other state agencies, research institutions and organizations).
  • Experience developing public presentations using data and graphics.
