Summit on Reducing the Supply of Illegal Opioids in Washington

Thursday, June 15, 2017 8:00 - 5:00pm
Friday, June 16, 2017 8:00am - 12:00noon

Seattle, WA

Law enforcement, prosecutors’ offices, and community leaders don’t miss this opportunity to shape Washington’s next steps in addressing the opioid epidemic.

As your work is increasingly impacted by the opioid crisis, ensure that you have the tools you need to address the distribution of heroin and the unlawful distribution of prescription opioids.  Make your voice is heard - recommendations stemming from the Summit will be included in a follow-up report to state leaders.

Who should attend?

State, tribal, local and federal law enforcement and prosecutors’ offices, community leaders, and policymakers.

Where will the Summit be held?

On Thursday, June 15th, the Summit will be held at the University of Washington's Kane Hall - located right in the heart of campus on the Central Plaza, also known as Red Square.

On Friday, June 16th, we will be in the Husky Union Building, the HUB.

What are my transportation/parking options?

The meeting locations are approximately 1/2 mile from the University of Washington Light Rail Station.

Parking is also convenient.  Detailed instructions for drivers will be posted closer to the event.  Please check back.

I'm attending the Summit from outside the area, where can I stay overnight?

There are many hotels within walking distance, as well as some that offer shuttles to campus. Please consult this list provided by the University of Washington, or TripAdvisor. View this map to see the distance from each hotel to Kane Hall.  For reference, some close properties with good reviews are Watertown Hotel, University Inn, Hotel Deca, Residence Inn, and University Motel Suites.

Where can I get food and coffee?

Husky Den, located on the Ground Floor of the HUB, is the largest dining hall on the UW campus with eight restaurants and a market.

Starbucks is also on the Ground Floor of the HUB near the curved glass staircase and the southwest entrance.

Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the Summit?

No, we will have a list of attendees.

How can I contact the organizer with additional questions?

Contact Kelly Richburg, Washington Attorney General’s Office at 206-389-2130 or kellyr1@atg.wa.gov
