2019 Prevention Highlights

Hi everyone,

As we're coming to the end of 2019 - what were some of your prevention related highlights for the year?

Here are mine:

  • DBHR starting the fellowship program
  • The Legislature passing HB 1074 - (Tobacco 21) Increasing the minimum legal age of sale of tobacco and vapor products to 21.

Looking forward to reading your responses :)

Best,

-Your friendly neighborhood prevention fellow "Chewy"

In 2019, the conversations around e-cigs and vaping have dramatically changed from being "a less harmful alternative to cigarettes" to now highlighting the “serious risks and negative health outcomes associated with use.” I am hopeful that these conversations and all the media coverage around this topic will show results in decreased usage in 2020!

I would say the addition of multiple CPWI communities to add to the mix and the fellowship program!
