Department of Health collecting 420 motivations for why teens don't use marijuana

The Washington State Department of Health is promoting a social media strategy to counter the 420 subculture movement this year. We need your help collecting 420 reasons why our Washington youth are not using marijuana! Responses will be compiled and shared weekly throughout the month of April on the You Can Facebook and Instagram pages—and made available for partners to share.

To participate, encourage youth to submit the attached form explaining either:

  1. The reason (or reasons!) why they do not use marijuana
  2. What they like to do instead of using marijuana

Responses will be kept anonymous.

To share student responses, please send an email to Mary Daniel, Mary.Daniel@doh.wa.gov in the following formats:

  • Send pictures or scans of the collected pages
  • Send a list of the responses (see sample template)

Deadline to participate is end of day, March 23.

If you have any questions, please contact Mary Daniel, Mary.Daniel@doh.wa.gov.
