Ethics in Prevention: A Guide for Substance Abuse Prevention Practitioners
Ethics in Prevention
This facilitated Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) Ethics in Prevention curriculum addresses the role and application of ethics in substance abuse prevention. Using case studies and interactive activities, participants will explore the six principles in the Prevention Code of Ethics and learn to use a 4-step decision-making process to assess, address, and evaluate a range of ethical issues.

Learning Objectives
- Review course materials and learn about ethics in substance abuse prevention
- Complete classroom activities designed to help you better understand and explain the six principles of Prevention Code of Ethics
- Participate in classroom discussions and apply what you have learned by using example scenarios

Accreditation
This course is endorsed by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) for Prevention Specialist Certification. The Prevention Specialist Certification Board of Washington (PSCBW) has approved this Prevention Ethics course for professionals preparing to obtain their Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) credential. You must attend the entire training and complete the course in order to gain credit. 6.5 contact education hours provided.
