Help the Department of Health feature inspiring teens!

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) is excited to announce it’s launching a statewide search for “Inspiring Teens” to feature in an upcoming video—and they’re hoping you can recommend teens in your community!

The “Inspiring Teens” video is part of the state’s youth-focused marijuana prevention and education campaign, You Can, and will be an opportunity for Washington state youth to share their passions, tell us what keeps them motivated, and the reasons why marijuana is not part of their future plans. We’re looking for teens between the ages of 13 and 18, currently enrolled in a Washington state middle or high school. DOH doesn't want to be too prescriptive beyond that—they really want to showcase teens that show the diversity of youth living in Washington, from a wide variety of backgrounds and communities.

If you know someone who may be interested, please direct them to YouCanWA.org/Inspire where they can learn more and apply. DOH also hopes you’ll circulate the attached flyer within your network and share about the video search on your own social channels. They have developed a couple social posts for doing just that, available on the You Can partner toolkit (Password: Prevention&Education). Feel free to share this email with your networks!

Right now, DOH is looking for three Inspiring Teens to feature. The three finalists will be compensated for their time. The final videos will be used as part of a suite of marijuana prevention and education ads, and all participants under the age of 18 will need to provide written parental/guardian consent to participate.
