Marijuana Prevention and Education Consultant

The Office of Healthy and Safe Communities works to increase the number of Washington residents who are healthy at every stage of life and in all settings: health, educational, and social. We work to prevent disease and promote health by implementing policies, systems, and environmental changes with a focus on health equity. Our areas of expertise include community-based prevention, injury and violence prevention, and cancer prevention and control.

In this position, you will support the Department of Health's mission by overseeing marijuana education and tobacco prevention policy work to enhance the health of individuals, families, and communities in Washington State through policy, systems and environmental change. This position reports to the Program Manager of the Marijuana Prevention and Education Program (MPEP).

Your primary role will be to negotiate, monitor and support the management of regional contracts with local health departments and community-based organizations, and coordinate statewide initiatives that support the work of those contractors.
