Pregnancy and Beyond: Equitable and Compassionate Care for Pregnant and Parenting Women with Opioid Use Disorder

The first Pregnancy & Beyond event was in March 2019. The event was titled "Improving Maternal and Infant Outcomes for Women with Opioids Use Disorder."

During the conference, participants reviewed trends for opioid use and neonatal abstinence syndrome and learned best practices for caring for pregnant and parenting mothers and for babies affected by opioid use disorder. They received resources to share with colleagues and learned how to discuss possible opioid use with current or new patients.

About 300 people attended the conference, which filled the venue. There was interest in hosting another event in 2020.

Our shared goal is to ensure effective, compassionate care for pregnant and parenting mothers struggling with opioid use disorder and babies with neonatal abstinence syndrome.
