School Health Services Consultant

The staff members within the Student Support Unit oversee programs that help school districts provide educational supports to students in schools; these programs address needs related to physical, mental, and behavioral health, safety, and targeted services for a variety of vulnerable student populations. The Health Services program is a state funded initiative to ensure positive student health and academic outcomes. This program fits within the student support section of OSPI and provides health supports to vulnerable students and all students.
 
Within the structure of OSPI, the School Health Services Consultant directly interfaces with the work of the Student Support unit, Special Education, and other sections. The School Health Services Consultant also works collaboratively with other agencies such as Department of Health, Board of Health, Nursing Commission, Department of Children, Youth, and Families, Department of Social and Health Services, and other critical state-level stakeholders. This position reports directly to and receives assignments of specific task and areas of responsibility from the Director of Student Support.
