Tobacco-Free Fundamentals Training

The Department of Health (DOH), in partnership with the Health Care Authority and ESD 112, is offering a free online Tobacco-Free Fundamentals training on Tuesday, July 28, 8:30am-4:00pm.

Training objectives:

  • Understand the burden of tobacco uponpeople with behavioral health conditions
  • Build on your existing tobacco and tobacco cessation knowledge
  • Provide information on the latest evidence-based tobacco cessation strategies
  • Learn the latest information about electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS)
  • Review the evidence base for nicotine-free policies and steps for policy implementation

This training is capped at 40 participants to make for an engaging and interactive online training experience, including the use of ‘breakout rooms’ for small group discussion. Any registrations over the cap will be added to a waitlist, and notifications will be sent out if/when seats open up. So, we encourage you to register for this training today.

If you have not yet participated in one of our Tobacco-Free or Tobacco Treatment Specialist trainings, we hope you will join us on July 28 to learn how important it is to treat tobacco use and dependence, perhaps now more than ever given the threat that COVID-19 poses to people who smoke.

If you have questions about this training and/or the DOH Tobacco-Free Behavioral Health Initiative, please email Nick Fradkin at nick.fradkin@doh.wa.gov.
