Virtual Practice Session: Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment for Prevention Specialists

Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Virtual Practice Session

This event will be hosted over Zoom by Dr. Barbara Richardson, a clinician and researcher from WSU’s Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine.

In this virtual session, Dr. Richardson will demonstrate how to utilize the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) process. Attendees will then enter into small group breakout rooms to practice utilizing the SBIRT process with each other. Dr. Richardson will rotate through breakout rooms to provide individual feedback and answer questions on the SBIRT process. Attendees will receive SBIRT resources, practice scenarios, and a standard observational rubric.

This event is hosted by the Center for Rural Opioid Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery (CROP+TR).
