Webinar: First responder resilience & operational stress: Critical considerations as we navigate a global pandemic and civil unrest

Operational Stress Control is a form of “psychological force protection” for an organization’s most critical and highly stressed employees. Those serving as operations leaders, as well as those on the front lines of the crisis may be dealing with an anxious and overwhelmed workforce, and may be working with extreme and persistent levels of stress that can adversely impact their own performance and wellness.

Fear of the unknown aka “Anticipatory Grief” can and will impact many as we move through this public health crisis. For first responders, the exposure rate is even higher and therefore creates greater potential risk with respect to emotional health.

We will discuss the foundations of first responder resilience and operational stress control techniques and include key considerations for law enforcement and behavioral healthcare professionals moving forward. A brief introduction will be provided by Christopher West, MSW, chief executive officer of Cascade Behavioral Health Hospital, with closing remarks offered by Mila Sardelli, National Director of Marketing and Business Development for Bayside Marin Treatment Center.
