Description: This webinar will address the importance of the healthcare infrastructure in improving outcomes for victims of violence. This presentation will discuss the roles and responsibilities of healthcare team members,the importance of policies and practices that promote safety within programs, and the need for collaboration with community resources. Two models of care designed to support victims of violence in the healthcare system will be presented, along with the lessons learned. Skill Level: Intermediate Learning Objectives: 1) Analyze the impact of the healthcare infrastructure on victims of violence. 2) Identify essential community resources to support the healthcare infrastructure's ability to best meet the needs of victims of violence. 3) Apply models of care designed to support victims of violence in the healthcare system.
