Speaker: Elyse R. Grossman, PhD, JD 

Dr. Elyse R. Grossman is a public health lawyer and policy consultant focusing on alcohol, marijuana, and other drug policy and law. She currently works as the Senior Legal Policy Advisor for Advancement Strategy Consulting, LLC, and as a Policy Fellow at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has more than 17 years of experience researching, analyzing, and publishing on issues of policy and law concerning alcohol consumption and substance use -- especially in areas of prevention and youth. Dr. Grossman also teaches an undergraduate public health course at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and recently co-authored an Amicus Curiae brief for the Supreme Court in TWSRA v. Thomas (2019). She completed her master’s degree and Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and her J.D. with a Concentration in Health Law at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Dr. Grossman also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
