Webinar: Introduction to the DSM-5 and models of substance use - 1st webinar in "Substance Use 101: A Series"

Substance Use 101: A Series
Are you new in the field of substance use? Or do you want a review of the basics of alcohol and other drugs? This series of webinars/trainings is a collection of basic information and will present 3 popular topics: the DSM-5, Neurochemistry, and Pharmacology. Each course can be taken alone and participants will receive hours for each delivery.

This first course will introduce participants to the DSM-5 and also present models of substance use (moral, disease, bio-psycho-social-spiritual). Also, many people are not aware of how the DSM-5 addresses culture. This course will review the Cultural Formation Interview contained in the DSM-5.

2. List criteria for a substance use disorder
3. Describe 3 models of substance use: moral, disease, bio-psycho-social-spiritual
