In this two-part webinar series, we will discuss the historical and present-day context that has led to disparities in treatment and outcomes for Black patients with opioid use disorder and offer solutions to address and eliminate these inequities.

Part 2. Promoting Health Equity: Facilitating Utilization of Medications for Opioid Use Disorder Among Black Patients

Objectives:

At the end of this webinar series the participant will be able to:

1. Appreciate the role of culturally-informed and structurally competent policy and treatment approaches for Black patients with OUD

2. Describe barriers to access to and retention in medication treatment for OUD among Black patients

3. Describe facilitators of access to and retention in medication treatment for OUD among Black patients

4. Identify target policies and/or program initiatives in your local area to promote improved utilization of medication treatment for OUD among Black patients 

Recognizing and Eliminating disparities in Addiction through Culturally Informed Healthcare The overall goal of the REACH training program is to increase the number of physicians and advanced health professionals adequately trained to work with under-represented minority patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental disorders.
