This webinar provides an overview of the unique needs and challenges sexual and gender minority youth experience, discusses health disparities associated with alcohol and substance use, and reviews strategies for integrating adolescent screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) appropriately into care.

Participants in this webinar will learn about:

- Terminology for sex and gender and review the unique needs and experiences of sexual and gender minority (SGM) youth;

- Provide affirming and culturally competent care to SGM youth;

- Understand how gender and sexual identity and orientation are key factors in understanding patterns of alcohol and substance use and experiences of health and wellbeing; and

- Strategies to utilize and adapt the Adolescent SBIRT for SGM youth.
