Webinar: Why is meth so addictive?

Addiction expert Christopher Yadron, PhD, will share what crystal meth is, what it does to the body (short-term and prolonged effects), signs and symptoms of use, and effective options for treatment and recovery. Learning objectives include:

  • Understanding the signs, symptoms and side effects of methamphetamine use disorders
  • Identifying current methamphetamine use trends
  • Exploring the predictors of successful treatment and recovery

Christopher Yadron, PhD, LCPC, CADC, is the executive director of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in New York. He has served as a clinician and administrator in a wide variety of addiction treatment, mental health and nonprofit settings. He holds a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts in counseling from Loyola University in Chicago, and received his doctorate from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in counselor education and supervision. He is a licensed clinical professional counselor and a certified alcohol and drug counselor in Illinois.

Yadron examined the issue of stigma in clinical practice in depth when conducting a qualitative study on the intersection of sexual identity and religious belief to complete his doctoral dissertation. He is a popular speaker at professional conferences and workshops on topics including addiction and the family, cultural competency, motivational interviewing and co-occurring disorders.
