Description

When working to prevent substance misuse among college populations, getting campus support for campus-based data collection and prevention efforts is key. This event will explore options for accessing both secondary and primary data for this population, as well as approaches for engaging key data-keepers, including college administrators, in these efforts.

Facilitator

Chuck Klevgaard, BSW, CPS currently oversees the CAPT's Central Resource Team and delivers services to 10 states and five tribes. He previously served as a consultant to the U.S. Department of Education's Higher Education Center for Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Violence Prevention, and has moderated a series of national webinars on preventing binge drinking among adolescents, young adults, and college populations.

Presenter

Tracy Tlumac, Ed.D., CAPT Associate, has more than a decade of experience working on campus substance abuse issues. As the former Associate Director of the U.S. Department of Education's Higher Education Center for Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Violence Prevention, she conducted skills-building trainings, and assisted campus prevention professionals in assessing their prevention needs, developing and implementing strategic plans, and translating effective research into best practices for their campuses and surrounding communities.
