Healthy Youth Survey rescheduled to 2021

We are happy to announce the Healthy Youth Survey will be administered in the fall of 2021. Additional details about the survey and modes of administration (ex: paper, electronic in the classroom or other settings) will be announced in the next few months.

As you may be aware, the October 2020 Healthy Youth Survey (HYS) was postponed because the survey was only approved to be administered in-person in a school setting and a large majority of schools were delivering virtual or hybrid instruction due to COVID in fall 2020. As noted in the correspondence sent out in August, alternative administration options are being explored for future surveys to avoid administrative disruptions in the future.

We appreciate your patience as we work through this process. We realize the data from this survey provides critical insight into understanding the needs of your youth, as well as a source of information to write and report on grants to better meet those identified needs.

Updates and past results of the survey can be found on the askhys.net website. Additional resources about the survey specifically pertaining to schools can be found on OSPI’s HYS website. (https://www.k12.wa.us/student-success/health-safety/healthy-youth-survey). If you have questions, please contact, Susan Richardson; SurveyAdmin@AskHYS.net or Emily Maughan; Emily.Maughan@k12.wa.us

Sincerely,
