Program Manager - Washington Traffic Safety Commission

The full job announcement is available at https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/1512964/program-manager-wms-08708

As a program manager, you will serve as the agency's designated liaison with Tribal Nations in Washington and help coordinate the work of the Tribal Traffic Safety Advisory Board (TTSAB). TTSAB is a collaborative team made up of representatives from several tribes in Washington with the aim of improving traffic safety among Tribal Nations.

In addition to serving as the WTSC tribal liaison, you will help coordinate the activities of the Pedestrian Safety Advisory Council (Council). Substitute Senate Bill 5957, passed in 2015, charges the WTSC with convening a Pedestrian Safety Advisory Council (Council) to review and analyze data related to statewide pedestrian fatalities and serious injuries. The purpose of the Council is to understand patterns in pedestrian deaths and serious injuries with the aim of identifying areas of opportunity for improving the safety of the transportation system.  The Council must issue annual reports to the Governor and the Legislative Transportation Committees detailing findings and recommendations, culminating in a final report to the Legislature on December 1, 2018.

In carrying out your various assignments as a program manager, you will monitor federal and state-funded traffic safety projects and collaborate with a diverse team of private, public, and non-profit stakeholders to effectively carry out the agency's mission. You will work closely with peers in the agency to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.  Your individual efforts will be maximized through a shared management approach that relies on authentic trust, differing perspectives, respectful communication, personal accountability, and healthy team dynamics.  Your work will include understanding governing rules and regulations and executing a program that operates within those constraints while achieving extraordinary results.  Because of the scope and importance of this work, we need a creative and committed professional with strong administrative and program management skills who thrive in teams, but also excels when working independently.
