The Washington Association for Substance misuse and Violence Prevention (WASAVP) announced the dates for its 2024 Art & Science of Community Organizing Training (ASCOT) spring workshops.
These workshops are drawn from the ASCOT curriculum and are designed for busy community leaders, advocates, allies, organizers, mobilizers, and champions in their work to prevent substance use disorder and local violence, while also promoting equity, inclusion, and access.
- Workshop 1, Tuesday, April 16: Connecting to local and state substance use disorder and violence prevention partners and natural allies. Register for this workshop!
- Workshop 2, Tuesday, April 30: Promoting dialogue and navigating divisive conversations. Register for this workshop!
- Workshop 3, Tuesday, May 21: Facilitating inclusive partnerships. Register for this workshop!
- Workshop 4, Tuesday, June 4: Overcoming three major challenges that prevention-focused community organizers/mobilizers face in 2024. Registration coming soon!
All workshops will be held via Zoom, 9 a.m. to noon.
