Workforce Lectures Series: Preventing Bullying by Promoting Social and Emotional Skills

Tia Kim, Ph.D. will present on “Preventing Bullying by Promoting Social and Emotional Skills”. The prevalence and social-psychological costs of bullying warrant attention. One way of addressing the issue of bullying is for schools to adopt a bullying prevention program that focuses on enhancing social emotional skills. This presentation will address how social emotional learning is foundational to bullying prevention. It will also describe some bullying prevention programs that do this and evaluations that have been conducted on these programs.
