Psychologist & Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator

Provide counseling service to University of Puget Sound students: counseling (individual and group), intake assessments, crisis intervention, referrals, treatment planning, and documentation. Present educational programs and trainings that contribute to the student learning objectives of the division of student affairs; provide consultation to campus community; advise student groups. Work collaboratively with medical providers in multi-disciplinary setting. Participate as a member of an APA doctoral internship training team by supervising trainees and participating in the selection process.

Provide leadership for university’s substance abuse prevention efforts: coordinate a comprehensive substance abuse prevention program, informed by professionally-accepted and empirically-supported best practices; present and evaluate prevention programs; conduct substance abuse assessments; provide workshops for at-risk students; collaborate with student conduct and other student affairs departments; and conduct campus climate research to support ongoing prevention and education efforts specific to the institution.
